Tucker is Tuffer than Edwards

Tucker Carlson: Ann Coulter referred to me as gay once, but I didn't cry about it

I think what everyone is really mad about is the way Ann sunk to the level of Liberal commentators. It should be obvious, but I will take this moment to point out the double standard that exist between liberal and conservative commentators. I know no one listens to Air-America or reads books by liberal authors but take my word on it, liberals say much worse things. Bill Maher said he wishes Cheney were dead. The only difference is AC sells books, a lot of books. Maybe Edwards should get a thicker skin if he thinks he can be President. The guy in the bow tie seems to be tougher.

I'll be Damed "the Rascal" Is (mostly)Right

"You and your pinhead friend Mark might like to know that the so-called "famous Lincoln quote" is a fabrication, as countless Web sites are reporting this morning. By the way, why aren't you and Mark serving in Iraq? Chickenhawks, right?"
--The Rascal

Childish name calling is just typical liberal banter in should not be humored.

On February 10th I posted a quote from Lincoln that turns out to be untrue. I got the quote from Insight magazine. Author J. Michael Waller claims the quote was his words describing Lincoln's policy during the Civil War. The editor accidentally put quotes around it making it appear to be Lincolns worlds.

The point of the post still works. Obama claims to be running the spirit of Lincoln. Lincoln however would not agree. Consider the following from http://www.southernevents.org/lincolnWar.htm

"Clement Vallandigham was a Congressman from Ohio and a nationally prominent Democrat. In May 1863 he made a speech attacking the Lincoln administration's conduct in the war. He was arrested, convicted by a military tribunal, although a civilian, and deported into the Confederacy."

If thats not good enough to prove Lincoln's disdain for the peace movement then consider the following from http://www.civil-liberties.com/pages/did_lincoln.htm

". . . However, the Peace Democrats, also called copperheads by their enemies, publicly criticized Lincoln's belief that violating the U.S. Constitution was required to save it as a whole. With Congress not in session until July, Lincoln assumed all powers not delegated in the Constitution, including the power to suspend habeas corpus. In 1861, Lincoln had already suspended civil law in territories where resistance to the North's military power would be dangerous. In 1862, when copperhead democrats began criticizing Lincoln's violation of the Constitution, Lincoln suspended habeas corpus throughout the nation and had many copperhead democrats arrested under military authority . . . "

In closing, the quote was wrong, but the point is still there, Lincoln would have nothing to do with Obama and the rest of his ilk. Who knows maybe Lincoln would have deported Obama to Iraq.

Q&A

Lets assume the US backs out of Iraq and begins a policy of non-interference in the middle east.

Would you feel more or less safe from terrorist attack?

How do you think Iran would react?

What affect would that have on Israel?

How do you think that would affect the amount of people dying in middle east right now?

I Don't Think Lincoln Would Agree

"And that is why, in the shadow of the Old State Capitol, where Lincoln once called on a divided house to stand together, where common hopes and common dreams still, I stand before you today to announce my candidacy for President of the United States."
-- Barack Obama

Perhaps while voting on the Non-Binding Iraq Resolution Senator Obama will remember a famous Lincoln quote.

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs who should be arrested, exiled or hanged."
--J. Michael Waller

Minimum Wage Bill Passes

The Minimum Wage bill has finally passed the Senate. A few things that needed to be fixed by Republicans before the bill goes to the President:

No exemption for corporations in Pelosi's district.

Tax breaks to help small business incur the added expense.

Refresh my memory, which party is for small business?

"Workers of the world, unite!" --Karl Marx

" . . .Regarding the economic imbalance in our country, I am reminded of the situation President Theodore Roosevelt faced in the early days of the 20th century. America was then, as now, drifting apart along class lines. The so-called robber barons were unapologetically raking in a huge percentage of the national wealth. The dispossessed workers at the bottom were threatening revolt. . . ."

Can someone tell me what the economic imbalance in our country is? Who is getting rich at our expense? Is Jim Webb calling for a workers revolt? Maybe I read it wrong, judge for yourself:

Full Transcript

Why did that section of the rebuttal sound very similar to what middle east leaders are telling their own people? Whats next, the democrats call for Jihad?

***update***
". . .The House just passed a minimum wage increase, the first in 10 years, and the Senate will soon follow."

Not so fast Webb. The Senate floored the bill as it did not have any tax breaks for small business. They might as well of called it the "Walmart Wins Bill" . Law making is hard, you cant just throw this stuff together. First we had Pelosi's exemption for corporations in her district, now we have no way of protecting "mom and pops" stores from raised cost of doing business. You can't be too hard on the Dems they just didn't know that taxes could be lowered.
